The Oirschotse Heide was visited for first time in 2016 at the end of February. There was not much to do during this particular day. Only one Chinook came along for a few hover exercises above the heath. The Chinook helicopter was hovering low above the heath and was doing some positioning exercises. In mid-April the Oirschotse Heide was visited again. In this period, there was a MEDEVAC exercise ongoing of the Dutch Army. The wounded soldiers, who figured during this exercise, were evacuated with a Chinook. The helicopter landed on the sands and quickly loaded the wounded soldiers. After the exercise there was a Hercules from Eindhoven in the circuit of the airport.
