Chinooks Practice in Las Vegas; North Las Vegas, March 6, 2017
American and Canadian Training; Text and Photograph's by Alex van Noye
On the north side of the American city of Las Vegas in the state of Nevada, is the small airport North Las Vegas Airport located. This airport is a civil airport that is generally used for light aviation such as small planes and helicopters. From this airport, helicopters often fly to the Grand Canyon with tourists on board. Sometimes there are military users which are using this airport. This time there were some American Army Chinooks and some Canadian Air Force Chinooks at the airfield. The helicopters were used to fly units of the Special Forces to the mountains outside the city. These special military units are training more often in the relatively high mountains which are not far away from the city.
